Do you think I should take a class, to lose my southern accent?

Well, if I had a southern accent, that is.

So here I am, making another post, so horribly long after my last one. I'm back at school, I'm single, still a bit drunk, and very awake for still being up at 7:30 in the morning. Since my last time I've been here, I've managed to tell The Dancer how I felt for him, and he told me that he had feelings for me too. Unfortunately, he now lives in the twin cities, so any chance of a relationship is out of the question. I've broken up with Merna, mostly due to the fact that I found out for the second time that she was doing drugs behind my bacmanagede manged to have sex(before I became single, and not actually sure if I'm totally over my... issue). I've also bought a new bass, and promptly ignored it for about a month now. I'm out of the dorms now, Living in a house with five girls, and once again have (mostly) clear shower curtains again, and I'm not sleeping again. It always manages to surprise me, that no matter how much the scene and players change, how little things seem to change in my life. I suppose I would either make terrible or wonderful TV.

So, a new year at school, a new major, and new friends. I look back over my previous posts, and I see how little I've actually said about my school, life and friends. Makes me a feel a bit underpublished, if you know what I mean. Though the only blogs I read with much regularity are Hyde, Flash and The Dancer, who are all much better about actually posting full and regular updates. (Though I think that Flash may be picking up on my bad habits of late. I kid, Flash =) And sorry everybody else, since I've stop posting, I've been reading fewer and fewer blogs, I'll start reading you again!) So here it is, a re-introduction, and general “about me.”

My name is Chapstick, I'm 19, and a second year student at Michigan Tech University, where I study CNSA (Computer Network and System Administration.) I also considered being an Optometrist in my father's footsteps, and an architect. I work for a company called ItOxygen on their operations team, managing and administrating their servers. (go figure) I'm a super geek who runs linux, and an audiophile (on a limited budget--

Okay, that was strange, two guys from next door just came into my room to wake me up and tell me it's time to start drinking.... wow. Where was I?

I love music of almost all types, excluding most country and rap. I hang out a lot with my friends Capitan Hobbit, the Swimmer, his girlfriend, TongueTied, Lazy, and the Yooper. A fair amount of my stories I may (or may not) tell here may have to do with them. I am also a fan and friend of locAnarkindaAnarkina, who do ska-skacore stuff, and are a good bunch. I'm bisexual, but of the only two people I'm interested in starting a relationship with, one is a state and a half away, and the other is pining for another dude.

There. A proper introduction, which I've never had. It seems a bit MySpace “Lookit Me!”-ish, but I also feel better for having done it.

So, for those of you who aren't just tuning into the blog, This summer went from amazing to crap very quickly. It was all going very well until about a month before I came back up to school. A family friend of mine called me up one day to do a bit of wiring/software setup for the apartments that she manages, which is a housing facility for the elderly. I accepted, since I stood to profit a pretty penny from the job, since the office wasn't doing so wIll and i was on slightly reduced pay. Two days after I accepted the job, my boss came into the office in a rage, spouting about how “The businesses in this town are my business” and throwing a fit. Mind you, I had never signed a contract binding my services to him explicitly, and I was hired by a friend of mine who I had done work before. I was told to either come back at reduced pay, or not to come back at all. I hated it, but I had no choice, I had no real chance of getting a job for the three and a half weeks before I came back up to school. Shortly after that, I learned from my best friend, who worked with me at the store, that Merna had done/been doing coke behind my back, which made me furious. I had learned last year from somebody that she had never met before that she smoked pot, and while I had no problem with her smoking pot, it crushed me both times to hear from somebody else. I did have a bit of a problem with her doing coke, but would have dealt with it. Between that incident and the fact that she seemed to expect for me to cheat on her with one of my housemates lead to our breaking up the week after I moved to school, about three weeks ago. Since then, I've just been hanging out, being poor, and going to classes, nothing really worth bringing up in a broad overview of what I've been up to in between posts. Off I go to sleep for a few hours, then to the ItOxygen offices and study groups, followed by movies and drinking!

Boo studying, Hooray beer!

Hi! I saw you at Hyde's and flash's blog, so I thought I'd pop in and check out yours.

Oh wow, sorry your summer went hell :( Both incidents sound exceedingly shitty. Hope things are going well now! top

I'm glad you're posting again! And I liked your little intro..."myspace-ish" or not. The best thing about college is that even though things are a little fucked up and all over the place, they're supposed to be that way. I can't believe you're only 19. (I mean, I guess I knew you were college-age, but I never really thought about it). You're very mature. I have complete confidence that you will get to where you need to be in all areas of life.

    :)

    love,
    h top

shorty: Of course that I'm not back in BloggerLand, I'll pick back up on your blog, glad to see you still remeber mine!

Flash: Oh c'mon, mate, you know that actually updating would ruin the whole mystery of my blog. Erm... yeah.

minx: I've seen your name at Hyde's, and I'm sure you'll see me pop in at some time or another on your page.

Hyde: Yeah, well I had a hard time convincing my new housemates that I wasn't at least 20, so apparently I just seem older than I am. top
